About Us

Having being born in the 60's, I was raised with guitar influenced music in my home from some of the greats, like Hendrix, Clapton, BB King, The Allman Brothers, among others! …With my older brother, and cousin, in a rock band I was intrigued from a very young age. I started plucking guitar at the age of 11.  Although, I've never taken a formal music class I still spent my college years learning everything I could about classical and bass guitar. I worked closely with Dave's Guitar's in La Crosse, WI, in his formative years, helping with advertising campaigns for college credits. 

I joined a band by the name of "Axen" in 1985 and we played covers by bands such as Motley, Ratt, Van Halen, Ozzy, etcetera. Along with cowriting several original arrangements. During this time, I worked with a cabinet maker honing my woodworking skills. I have always had a love for both wood and music.  Why not apply my unique skillset(s) and use both talents together?  After getting married in 1990, I took a break from the band scene and pursued a career in construction and just played guitar at home for the next 20ish years. I continued, and continually study the trends of musical equipment and gear. 

My deep yearning for guitars and music equipment came back in the 2010's as I started assembling parts casters and kit guitars. I began building Jigs and templates and started crafting my own guitar necks and bodies out of rough lumber.  After several years of practice, and trial and error, I began creating beautiful instruments by taking bits and pieces of other well known guitar manufacturers' ideas and incorporating them into my own instruments as well as amplifier and the speaker enclosures.  Understanding this was revelatory, as I came to realize there are no real guitar shops within a 50 mile radius of my home.  Ultimately, this led to my decision to finally pursue my passion for woodworking and music, and apply my unique skillsets, to create beautiful, custom guitars, enclosures, as well as doing custom builds for enthusiasts and professionals alike, and repairing and otherwise fixing what most cannot!  This journey has led to the present day guitar shop, you are now exploring!  I built this business, so I could bring musical equipment and accessories closer to local artists and musicians so we don't have to depend on the Internet for everything, or a 2-hour round trip drive.
